Remediation by Natural Attenuation
(RNA): Not just "Wink and Walk" anymore....
In fact, RNA is an effective, viable
remediation process that is active at virtually every site. In Aqua
Veritas, LLC personnel were actively involved in the development and roll-out
of ASTM's RNA guidance document (E-1943-98), have developed internal RNA
guidance for major petroleum clientele, and are well versed in a wide variety
of additional RNA protocols, such as the Monitored Natural Attenuation
programs endorsed by the EPA and the US Navy, among others. |

No matter what it is, chances are, these guys will have it for lunch.

Let IAV guide you through the RNA implementation
process:
- First Line of Evidence - is RNA already
effective at your site, and will it achieve remedial goals?
- Second Line(s) of Evidence - what are the rates
of remedial progress through RNA at your site? Which TEAs
are effective, and would augmentation be of any use?
- Aerobic/Anaerobic processes - is oxygen
injection or infusion the answer?
- RNA Workscopes - determine realistic remedial
goals, sampling and monitoring strategies for your sites.
- Exit Strategies - can you close your site with
RNA, or will active remediation be required within a RBCA/RNA
management framework?
- Finally - Oxygenates. RNA's sleeping
dragon. What are your options if your site has high
concentrations of MTBE, TBA or similar compounds?
